We are thrilled to announce that the Bristol Rovers Community Trust's mental health project, 'Rebound With Rovers,' has been nominated for the Positive Football Environment Award at this year's Gloucestershire FA Grassroots Football Awards 2023.
This recognition highlights the commitment of the Community Trust and its positive impact on the lives of individuals within the local community. Since its inception, 'Rebound With Rovers' has become an important project for individuals battling mental health challenges in the Bristol area. The project utilizes the power of football to create a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can experience the transformative benefits of physical activity, camaraderie, and mental well-being.
Led by programme lead Costa Chard, 'Rebound With Rovers' offers a range of structured activities and training sessions, to workshops and support networks to help each participant. Through the combination of exercise, teamwork, and mentorship, 'Rebound With Rovers' has helped individuals rediscover their self-esteem and improve their mental well-being. Football acts as a catalyst for positive change, fostering a sense of belonging, purpose, and achievement within the participants.
