Nik Weeks won the Community Champion Award for raising over £10,000 pounds for charity by completing the 7 For 7 Marathon Challenge, while Sam Barkes won the Joe Davis Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions at Bristol Rovers Community College and his community efforts this year.
Nik Weeks, a lifelong 'Gas Head', decided to take on the 7 For 7 Marathon Challenge to raise money for charity. The challenge involved running seven marathons in seven days, covering a distance of 183.4 miles. With the support of the community and his family, Nik successfully completed the challenge and raised an impressive amount of money for charity. His dedication and hard work were recognized at the end of season awards ceremony, where he was awarded the Community Champion Award. His Father Eddie and trainer Grant Rees from Planned Fitness Goals were present to collect the award on the night.
Sam Barkes, a student at Bristol Rovers Community College, was awarded the Joe Davis Achievement Award for his exceptional contributions to the college and his community. Sam has been an active member of the community, volunteering his time and efforts to various projects and initiatives. He has also been an excellent student at the college, consistently achieving high grades and setting an example for his peers.
