Introducing Irene!

Bristol Rovers and the Bristol Rovers Community Trust are delighted to unveil the Club's newest mascot, Irene!

Following the tremendous success of Bristol Rovers Women in the last five years, including the team's return to the Club hold this summer, there has been an exciting upturn in attendance at The Memorial Stadium by female supporters and younger fans. As a Club with our supporters and community and our heart, it was important to ensure our mascots represented the Club's core values.

Irene will make her first public appearance at the Festival Funday at The Memorial Stadium on Thursday 1 August 2024 alongside longstanding stalwart Captain Gas, and the pair will both meet supporters at every home game and attend various Club, Community Trust and school events throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Adam Tutton, Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO, said: "We are delighted to welcome Irene to the Bristol Rovers family. As a Club that holds equality and diversity at its heart, we felt it vital that our club mascots represented our whole fan base.

"With the increase in the number of younger and female fans attending matches, we wanted to provide another mascot to support Captain Gas in entertaining and welcoming fans to The Mem. How the two of them get on is yet to be seen, but I have no doubt fans will enjoy the opportunity for a photo with Irene!"
